Modern Renaissance, Inc. is the exclusive publisher of fine art limited edition giclees (pronounced zhee-clay), a French term meaning "spray of ink", by well known artists Federico Castelluccio and Vito Pinto.

The giclee process is capturing the hearts and minds of artists, dealers, galleries and buyers as a beautiful alternative to traditional offset printing. In giclee printing the ink is actually sprayed onto the canvas or paper using inkjet printing technology. The color and vibrancy is so astounding it often fools the eye of the beholder, making it almost impossible to distinguish the print from the original.

While many of the original paintings by our artists are in private collections, some are still available. Any inquiries regarding the artists' original work are welcome.

Federico Castelluccio's newest fans know him as "Furio Giunta" on the HBO hit series "The Sopranos." But, Federico has many fans who have for years admired his off-screen talent, as a modern master of realism. His paints are owned by collectors in the United States, in South America and in Europe.

Now, for the first time, Federico Castelluccio's works are being offered as limited editions prints. These fine art prints are available on canvas through Modern Renaissance, Inc.

Federico was born in Naples, Italy and immigrated with his family to the United States at the age of four. He grew up in Paterson, NJ, eventually winning a full scholarship to the prestigious "School of Visual Arts" in New York City where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Mr. Castelluccio has received numerous awards and accolades for his paintings and has been represented by several galleries including Silverstein Gallery and Ambassador Galleries in New York City. Mr. Castelluccio's influences are numerous, ranging from Classicism to Impressionism to Surrealism. But his passion lies in the Renaissance. "Whenever I need inspiration or have a difficult question, I usually visit the Museum and go to the Masters. They always seem to have the right answers for me."

Federico's painting technique is derived mainly from The Italian, Flemish and German Masters. His meticulous style and attention to detail lend itself well when painting realism, whether it be a portrait, still life, or landscape. His paintings combine the old and the new, the whimsical with the serious. He also incorporates elements or images from subtle to blatant, that are symbolic to history, his subject or himself. "Studying the Renaissance Masters made me realize that meticulous observation is extremely important to a painter in order to capture the essence of whatever he or she is painting. Whether it be the way the light gently falls on a subject and how it affects the color in the light as opposed to in the shadow, or observing nature, perspective and the human figure. I also feel that it takes numerous preliminary drawings and sketches for an artist to fully understand his subject." Federico incorporates these valuable and essential ingredients in his work as well as using some of the exact formulas that were used over four hundred years ago

Vito Pinto

American painter, born in Italy. He is a self-made artist. His short enrollment in an Art Institute in Naples, Italy was disrupted when he moved to the United States of America. Nevertheless he continued his career as a realist artist until 1977, while working as an Assistant Scenic designer for the Theater Shop in Middlesex County College, New Jersey, he was inspired to paint pure abstract works. His early paintings unknowingly reflected similarities to the famous artist Jackson Pollock.

Vito Pinto's formal art education was interrupted when he immigrated as a teenager from Benevento, Italy to the United States. A top student at the Santa Maria Art Institute in Naples, his subsequent art education was self-directed.

After making the difficult teenage adjustment to a new country and culture, Vito continued his art career as a realist until 1977 when, working as an assistant scenic designer for a theatre company, he was inspired to paint pure abstract works. He eventually found his point of creativity and style.

Throughout his life, Vito has found strength by expressing his emotions through his art. His paintings have evolved to a high level of identity expressing his inate passion and energy.

"I'm a spiritual artist; I paint what I feel, my subconscious dictates the patterns, the visual forms, the identity of the work itself."

The constant need to express and to create is in his soul. It is like writing a novel, a poem about his life.

"I Map Faery Tale Adventures"

I find my treasures hidden
but kept safe by tiny angels.
I map faery tale adventures
Tiny angels
guard a world unknown to me
as yet.
I will draw the wind
the sea
the dream.
I will draw
art work in butterfly garden
and pictures of cats and dogs.
I will not consider impossible.
I will take out my pen and draw
whimsical musicians artwork
whimsical angel pictures
enchanted fairies.
I will find my muse
contemplate its rhythm
stroke its complexities
stamp out reservations...
they hold no place here!
I will collect whimsical angels
innocent angel they be
and introduce them to enchanted fairies
I will make drawing of the phoenix bird
legends of mermaids will attest to their flight.
I am a fantasy art warrior woman
no dragon can block my pathway.
Enchanted arms walkthrough
I will always stay amused.
Elves in folklore and myths abound
I hear the one winged angel calling.
Never limit the undefined
never accept limits at all.
Offer free poems
set them on the doorstep
of any given traveler.
How to draw flames
how to draw winter
how to bring the fairies home again.
I steady my Viking ship
and produce coloring pages
for children and their mothers.
Pixies fairies
elves
coloring pictures
whimsical musicians artwork
never ending pleasure.

Ahh yes!
I map faery tale adventures
and keep them safely inside my pocket.
